Well, Howie, this would probably pass as a conspiracy theory.
In the midst of some late public spat between the Jets and receiver Mecole Hardman, a mysterious report has surfaced.
Here's SNY.tv's Connor Hughes' tweet: “Yes, I was told he was there Verified belief from #Planes That WR Mecole Hardman, frustrated with his lack of usage, leaked game plans to the opponent, as several players (Sauce Gardner, Kenny Yeboah) pointed out today. Not only #the Eagles Game, but also #Presidents. Ironically, the Eagles' win was undoubtedly the best of the season for the Jets while Zach Wilson enjoyed the best game of his career against the Chiefs.
(This is the Gardner tweet from earlier today.)
It is important to understand what Hughes did and did not say. He said there was a “definite belief” that Hardman leaked game plans to the Chiefs and Eagles. Hughes did not say that this actually happened.
The report also does not include comment or response from the Jets or Hardman. Under these circumstances, both seem to be required.
Currently, the report has been prepared. Which is suspicious if true.
Hardman spent his first four years with the Chiefs. He signed last year with the Jets as a free agent.
He had one catch for six yards before it was returned to the Chiefs. He later caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.
