The dream of winning a treble in a row is over for Manchester City after losing on penalties to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday. Now, Pep Guardiola's side must focus their efforts on the remaining domestic matches as they search for silverware this season.
The team currently sit top of the Premier League, after both Liverpool and Arsenal dropped points last time out, and are favorites to regain their title while today's outing sees them targeting a place in the FA Cup Final. This is the seventh time in eight seasons that City have appeared in the semi-finals although they have only advanced twice in their last six attempts.
Standing in their way this afternoon is the rising Chelsea team led by Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues have reached three of the last four FA Cup finals (although winning none) and thrashed Everton 6-0 on Monday night as former City player Cole Palmer scored four goals. The striker will be crucial in Chelsea's bid to defeat their rivals today having already enjoyed success against his old club earlier in the season.

Manchester City 0-0 Chelsea
32 minutes: We only made five attempts, and only two were on target (both for Chelsea). But it feels like more given how open this can be sometimes.

Manchester City 0-0 Chelsea
31 minutes: End to end, this! City almost broke through with De Bruyne sliding in. Chalupa came back well to save De Bruyne's shot.

29 minutes: Huge opportunity! Was Jackson inside??? It seems! But Jackson didn't believe it!
One straight ball beats the City defense and puts Jackson in a race with Stones. Jackson wins it – easily – but then can't finish after deciding to try to get around Ortega. City recovered the players and Ake intercepted Jackson's cutback.
The flag remained low. Jackson was half done!

27 minutes: Opportunity! Almost the opening of the city! Grealish delivers a brilliant cross to the back post and picks out the next Silva. The Portuguese is heading towards the goal, but the ball is directly in the direction of Petrovic!
Chelsea felt some relief when Foden was offside and then went to get the ball.

Manchester City 0-0 Chelsea
21 minutes: There's a good flow to this! Chelsea are in the game and causing some problems for City in terms of their press structure. Pochettino has gone for something different with Gallagher on the left wing and Jackson joining Palmer in what resembles a 4-4-2 off the ball.
Chelsea look dangerous when they win counterattacks.

19 minutes: Close! Oh, almost a beautiful goal from Alvarez. The Argentine moves, rolls and cuts into the workspace to his left. He shoots a low ball, but his teammate blocks it. De Bruyne was in an offside position.

Minute 17: Good move from Chelsea. Jackson forms Stones on the left wing and finds space to pass the ball across the face of goal.
But there is no one there.

Manchester City 0-0 Chelsea
13 minutes: Out of line! City are so close in the opener, as De Bruyne opened up Chelsea's defense with a single pass! It cuts off Chelsea's path to release Foden, who tries to get around Petrovic but is forced to move wide. Cucurella heads wide as Foden tries to cut the ball back, and Chelsea are clear.
It was good goalkeeping from Petrovic at the end.
