Jost and fellow Staten Islander and SNL cast member Pete Davidson purchased the retired vessel at auction for $280,000 in 2022. The partnership, which includes architect and developer Ron Castellano and comedy club owner Paul Italia, reportedly planned to turn it into a $34 million entertainment venue.

“I justified it based on the amount we spent on it, based on the square footage,” Jost added. “If you find the right place for it, you buy a building on the side that’s 65,000 square feet. So, in New York, that’s a very good price per square foot.”

Page Six exclusively reported last week. It looks like the orange elephant the SNL dynamic duo bought while they were “super drunk” may finally have a purpose.

On Sunday, their MV JFK ferry hosted the Hilfiger fashion show, which has long been a staple of the week.

Castellano told Travel + Leisure that the ship could become a mini cruise ship of sorts, sailing between New York and Miami.

Jost was apparently having an internal conflict over the boat, which rocked during Hilfiger’s spectacular show that ended with a surprise performance by three members of the Wu-Tang Clan – who also hail from Staten Island.
