Bloomberg’s Gillian Tan reported that Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubinstein, a Baltimore native, is in talks to acquire the Orioles. Team officials did not respond to 11 News’ request. To comment. Current majority owner Peter Angelos has taken a backseat to his son John Angelos in recent years when it comes to baseball operations. John Angelos is the current president and CEO of the team. The reported sale talks come as the team continues to negotiate a stadium lease deal with the state of Maryland.
