Queen Camilla’s son doesn’t care what Prince Harry thinks – he says his mother married for love.
Tom Parker Bowles has criticized the Duke of Sussex News agents podcast To suggest Camilla was “evil” she “played the long game” to get her hands on the crown.
“I don’t care what anyone says — it wasn’t any kind of endgame. You married the person you love and that’s what happened,” Parker-Bowles said.
Harry wrote in his surprising diary Spear that Camilla would leak stories about members of the royal family in order to boost her image and reputation.
“I have complicated feelings about acquiring a stepfather who I thought had recently sacrificed me on the altar of her PR,” he wrote about Camilla.
Prince Harry also claimed in a “60 Minutes” interview in January that his stepmother – whom he has not seen since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September – was a “dangerous” and “vicious” who left “corpses in the street” in order to gain respect from the public.
Camilla’s friend Fiona Petty-Fitzmaurice, Marchioness of Lansdowne, for The Sunday Times The Queen was hurt by his comments.
“Of course it upsets her, of course it hurts her. She doesn’t let her get to her,” she told the outlet.
Betty Fitzmaurice added, “Her philosophy has always been: ‘Don’t make a thing out of it and it’ll settle — to say the least, it’ll soon be fixed.'”
As a royal aide told the outlet, Camilla didn’t make a big deal out of this snub.
“It wasn’t stamping underfoot or gnashing of teeth,” said the aide, “it was more of a jittery reaction.”
Another friend of Camilla’s defended her against Harry’s criticism, along with a confidante I tell the Daily Beast exclusively In January, “All Camilla ever did was have the misfortune to fall in love with a prince.”
“Literally the last thing you could care about is being queen. It’s ridiculous, and anyone who knows her knows it’s ridiculous.”
After Harry’s true thoughts about Camilla came to light, King Charles evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage.
A source said earlier woman: “And that was the last straw. Harry was well aware of how Camilla would be a red line for his father, and he crossed it with blatant disregard anyway. It was the ultimate act of disrespect.”
Later in a rare interview, Parker Bowles said that people have a “right to protest” against the upcoming coronation of King.
“Everyone has the right to think what they want,” he said of the reported “Not Mine” protests. About to go down on May 6th.
“We live in a free country, fortunately,” Parker Bowles explained, adding that if citizens want to protest, “it’s their right to do so.”
He continued, “You are allowed to protest. We are all allowed to have different points of view and I think that makes us feel cared and civilized.”
