Electric Zoo cancels first day of festival hours before it starts – Rolling Stone

Hours before the gates opened for the first day of Electric Zoo, the New York City-based EDM festival, its producers shut it down.

The festival published a message explaining the decision to cancel the day at 11:35 am on Friday; The doors are set to open at 3 in the afternoon. Among the artists scheduled to perform on Friday are Kx5 (aka Deadmau5 and Kaskade), Galantis, and Chainsmokers, among many others.

The festival said people who purchased ferry and bus tickets to get to the festival on Friday will also receive refunds for their transport, with refunds prorated for those with multi-day transport plans.
