It's been an amazing few days for Pittsburgh, which has agreed to terms with former Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson after two dismal seasons in Denver.
The plan was for Pickett — who was selected by the Steelers in the first round in the 2022 NFL Draft — to compete in training camp with Wilson, 35, for the QB1 role. According to ESPNwho noted that “internally, Wilson was viewed as the starting quarterback.”
With this, Beckett “preferred to get a fresh start elsewhere,” according to the report.
To respond to Initial report by Adam Schefter From Friday's trade that states, “Once Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson, Pickett preferred to move on,” Aditi Kinkapwala of CBS Sports Published on X: “Note: The word 'favorite' is not before Kenny Pickett is running away from contention. Wilson, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Steelers, now has a new backup in Justin Fields, who was traded from the Bears on Saturday.
During his two seasons in Pittsburgh, Pickett completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 4,474 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 25 games.
Amy has long been a supporter of Pickett's career as she frequently posts photos on social media from her Steelers game days.
