Matthew Lewis had to wear a filling and fake teeth

Tom Felton he said that”Harry Potter“Costastar Matthew Lewis had to change his appearance in the movie franchise because he kept getting ‘richer’ with each movie.

Felton, who starred as Draco Malfoy in all eight films released between 2001 and 2011, wrote in his Tuesday memoir, “Let’s face it: Neville Longbottom was never intended to be the show’s lover.”Beyond the Wand: Magic and Chaos in the Genesis of a Wizard. ”

Louis portrayed Neville Longbottom, a shy and initially confused Gryffindor student, in the “HP” films. Over time, the character’s bravery became more prominent. This culminated in his starring in killing Nagini, Voldemort’s (Ralph Fiennes) last Horcrux, using the Gryffindor sword in the final film.

Outside of Neville’s character development, Lewis has matured physically and is beginning to look like the round-faced kid introduced at the start of the franchise.

“Matthew Lewis, who played Neville from the start, appeared a lot in the first movie,” Felton wrote in his memoirs. “He had two ears, a face, and an endearing accent. Neville was head-to-toe.”

Felton continued, “But there was a problem. Every year, when we all got together to produce the next movie, Matthew was more cunning, which meant that – physically – he looked less like Neville.”

Felton said he “reached a point in the later films where they had to give him a wedge behind his ears, fake teeth, and a little fat suit to keep him from looking like the hunk he was turning into.”

Lewis himself recalled the experience of becoming a Neville through the use of artificial teeth and fillings in a 2021 interview with metro.

“It happened when I came back from the break between the second and third movies,” he said. “It was a little bit longer than usual because they went from winter to summer, and when I came back I was a lot taller than everyone else, and I think thinner than I was.”

“They tried stuffing my cheeks with cotton wool, which is disgusting, and then they cut those sponge parts out of the creatures’ traces and put them there,” Lewis explained.

The actor said that the cheek filler “sucked up saliva so after a whole day it was ridiculously despicable.”

He also confirmed that he was given large shoes “plastic behind the ears to make them stick in front” and false teeth.

Since the franchise ended more than a decade ago, Felton and Lewis have remained close.

“Matthew is a great example of all that is good in Potter,” said Felton. “He is a likable, humble and downright man to the point of error. His knowledge and interest in all kinds of topics ensured a great conversation, and that makes him one of my favorite people.”

“Of all the Potter alumni I’ve come across, Matthew is one of those I enjoy seeing the most,” he added. Any competition between Slytherin and Gryffindork has long been forgotten.
