Google is hosting an event tomorrow to fully unveil the Pixel 9 series and more, but the leaks haven’t stopped yet. A new post reveals some additional details about Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2, including the first new Tensor form factor.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 specs have already been leaked before. We know that Google is preparing some new colors, they will use the same case, and they will get a new design for the earbuds themselves that includes winged tips. There’s also word about a price hike and a delayed September launch.
But we haven’t heard much about what changes will come to Google’s new earbuds.
@MysteryLupin is We’re now in the process of finding a solution to this problem, which will help us bridge this gap with some small details about the Pixel Buds Pro 2 specifications, including the arrival of the first Tensor audio chip.
The Tensor A1 will apparently power Google’s new earbuds, enabling “double the ANC.” The strength of the ANC was a fairly common complaint with the first Pixel Buds Pro, so it will be interesting to see how that changes in the sequel. However, it’s not clear what the Tensor A1 will bring to the table.
The Pixel Buds Pro are also partially powered by a custom Google chip, but without the Tensor branding.
It’s also been mentioned that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will “seamlessly connect to your Pixel device” including phones, tablets, and watches. This is presumably in reference to the Fast Pair and associated multi-device features that debuted on the Buds Pro earlier.
According to this leak, the battery life may It might be a little shorter this time around. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are said to last 8 hours for the earbuds themselves, and 30 hours for the case. That’s down from 11 hours for the earbuds and 31 hours for the case. if This refers to the battery life without ANC enabled. Details are not mentioned in the post because, in Retail sourceThere’s also nothing specific mentioned. If the device has ANC off, it’s a downgrade. If the device has ANC on, it’s a pretty big upgrade.
The retail source also touts a “twist-to-adjust” mounting bracket and a new Pixel Buds app feature that tracks how loud your music is playing.
Pixel Buds 2 are small, light, and comfortable. Use the adjustable twist-on retainer to keep the earbuds secure during a workout, or adjust them for all-day comfort.
The Pixel Buds app tells you how loud your music is over time and tells you to adjust it to help you maintain healthy hearing.
Google is set to launch the Pixel Buds Pro 2 alongside the Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch 3 tomorrow. Stay tuned for our full coverage.
