October’s PlayStation Plus additions for Premium and Extra subscribers have been revealed, and there’s a host of seasonally appropriate horrors – Dead Island 2 and Dark Pictures: The Devil Inside, for starters – alongside the likes of Return to Monkey Island and Grace.
In total, October brings 10 new additions to the PlayStation Plus catalog for Premium and Extra members, and there are four additional titles exclusive to Premium – including the PS2 horror classic Siren – which combine to look like this:
- Dead Island 2 (PlayStation 4, pg. 55)
- Two Point Camps (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5)
- The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me (PS4, PS5)
- Grace (PS4, PS5)
- Return to Monkey Island (PS5)
- Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5)
- The Squad Firefighting Simulator (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5)
- Top Pass 2 (PS5)
- Tour de France 2023 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5)
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands (PlayStation 4)
- The Last Clockwinder (PS VR2 – Premium only)
- Dino Crisis (PS4, PS5 – Premium only)
- Siren (PS4, PS5 – Premium only)
- R-Type Dimensions EX (PS4 – Premium only)
So it’s crowded, with plenty of options if you’re looking for a little spookiness on Halloween. There’s gruesome first-person zombie distortion in Dead Island 2, another bout of massive cinematic narrative terror in The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, multiplayer ghost-rhythm action in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and of course, mysterious stealth. – Horror from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama in the 2003 film Siren.
Slightly less terrifying, but still very intense is Capcom’s much-loved Dino Crisis (essentially Resident Evil but with dinosaurs instead of zombies) – and for something completely different, other highlights include the comedic pirate adventure of Return to Monkey Island, an emotionally charged platformer In beautiful Gris, a playful, Bullfrog-like administrative procedure at Two Point Campus for 2022.
All of the above join the PlayStation Plus game catalog next Tuesday, October 15, and you will find more details about each title On the PlayStation Blog.
