During the recent Pokemon Presents event, The Pokemon Company made a slew of announcements. We get a new show on Netflix, Scarlet and Violet are getting expansions, and perhaps most importantly, you can buy a new gadget. The tool in question is Pokmeon Go Plus+ (pronounced, I believe, Pokemon Go Plus Plus), which is an improved version of the original Pokemon Go addon. It’s due out on July 21, but you can pre-order it now (See it at Best Buy). And you probably should, because pre-orders are already sold out at two of the three retailers with listings.
Order Pokemon Go Plus +
Pokemon Go Plus+ (it’s a silly name, but honestly it’s fun to say) works with Pokemon Go, and with the upcoming game/app Pokemon Sleep. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to sync with your phone without draining battery power.
In Pokemon Go, the Plus+ device can rotate PokeStops and automatically throw Poke Balls, including Great and Ultra Balls. It also allows you to do a special search to catch Snorlax wearing a night cap.
As for Pokemon Sleep, it does a little more than that. If you press and hold the center button and place the device next to your pillow, it will do several things. It tracks your sleep with the data you feed into the Pokemon Sleep app. It appears that there is also a Pikachu inside Pokemon Go Plus+. It can sing you to sleep and act as an alarm clock. The little creature gets “friendlier” the more you use it and makes more sounds over time. Nintendo’s marketing says, “Depending on how you sleep, you can collect more Pokémon to complete your Pokedex sleep!”
As mentioned earlier, if you want one of these things, you probably should Pre-order Sooner rather than later. Pokemon Go Plus+ isn’t the only physical item that Nintendo has struggled to keep in stock, even during the pre-order window. Metroid Prime Remastered also sold out everywhere before it was released, and it’s still impossible to find it in stock. So if you want Pokemon Go Plus+, close this pre-order.
