Priscilla Presley celebrated her daughter Lisa Marie’s 55th birthday on Wednesday by explaining that she was looking forward to “protecting” her family after Challenge the will of the late singer.
“Today will be Lisa’s 55th birthday. My wish is to protect my three grandchildren and keep our family together,” Priscilla reads in an exclusive statement to Page Six.
“From the first moment I took Lisa in my arms, I protected, loved, and guided her, like my own son. Our hearts are broken, and I have to learn to live without my only daughter.”
Priscilla, 77, concludes her letter by thanking fans for their support ever since Lisa Marie dies January 12th.
“We really love you all, and feel your prayers,” she says. “Thank you so much for taking such great care of our family.”
Elvis Presley’s ex-wife began the process of contesting her daughter’s will, which she and her former manager took years ago, just days after Lisa Marie was buried at Graceland.
In court documents obtained by Page Six, Priscilla alleged that Lisa Marie’s signature on the 2016 amendment appeared “inconsistent” and said her daughter’s name was misspelled. As it is, Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, is set to inherit the estate, which has been placed in a trust.
A source close to the late singer-songwriter told us after the filing that Priscilla’s attempt to void the will is Just “grab the money”.
