Ahead of next month’s Xbox Games Show Indoor games published a new report claiming that Bethesda is planning to announce a new DOOM game during the livestream, called DOOM: The Dark Ages. Sources told the website that the new title off the ID will be “medieval-inspired,” essentially confirming that it will serve as a prequel to the PS4 reboot and DOOM Eternal.
That’s not all: in a separate tweet, from the insider Nate hate He says the game will be revealed as a cross-platform title, with a PS5 version announced there and then during the show.
After releasing Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves on PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, Microsoft was supposed to continue its cross-platform efforts with more ports. However, the announcement of a brand new game being released for PS5 alongside Xbox Series S is a very important step above those lagging ports. Will it be the only Xbox game revealed for Sony consoles? We’ll need to stay tuned to the Xbox Games Show on June 9, 2024 for official details.
