Sean McVay Gives Big Praise to Detroit Lions Fans

Detroit Lions win playoffs Los Angeles Rams Last season will not soon be forgotten. Not only was it the Lions’ first postseason win since 1991, it was also the Lions’ first playoff appearance. never At Ford Field – which just so happened to feature two quarterbacks playing against their former teams.

For Rams coach Sean McVay, it was a game he’ll never forget for a different reason. As he told his teammates on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, it was the noisiest environment he’s ever been in.

This is what he said about this matter:

“It was the noisiest place — I’m telling you. I thought it was the noisiest place I’d ever been a part of, in terms of training, NFC Championship 2018 (vs.) New Orleans. We’re getting ready to go out, we’re testing it, we went there earlier in the season, and it was great. I remember it was so loud you couldn’t hear anything. (Jared) Goff’s microphone went off right before that, he had a spare helmet on. You’re like, ‘What the hell is going on?’

“But they did something brilliant, I remember. They showed — Robert Woods was interviewed during the week, and they said, ‘Do you think the noise is going to be a factor?’ And Robert was on my shoulder and he answered the question exactly as you would want him to. And he said, ‘No. We’ll take it easy. It’s not going to be a factor.’ Well, they showed that shit (on the big screen) during a TV break, and the fans started screaming. I said, ‘Oh, why the hell did you say that?’”

“But this one was louder, no doubt. In Detroit, it was much louder. It was disgusting. The atmosphere was disgusting. All credit to Detroit, and I tell you, my dad loved it. They actually came out to the stadium. I came out 60 minutes before kickoff, the stands were full. My dad said, ‘I heard these guys, these people booing somebody. I saw you come out.’ He was laughing, it was so funny. Everybody was booing and talking to me. It was great. I loved it.”

That game set a noise record at Ford Field, reaching 133.6 decibels. But the scary thing is, Lions fans outdid themselves the following week against Piratesreaching a peak decibel level of 134.3.
