Couples can easily spend $4,000 (or more) on a week-long trip to Disney World, but my husband and I have found some ways to save money.
Even though we don’t have kids, we usually stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It is popular with families due to its kid-friendly theme and Disney movies. But adults shouldn’t overlook the budget-friendly hotel.
Here’s what our recent stay was like and why Art of Animation is one of the best places for adults to stay at Disney World.
Prices are budget friendly (for Disney).
Art of Animation is classified as a value resort, meaning it is one of the most economical options for staying on a Disney World property.
Our standard room cost only $265 per night. But we still have privileges like… Early entry to the parks And free transportation around Disney World.
We felt like we were in Disney World from the moment we arrived.
The lobby at Art of Animation is decorated floor to ceiling with sketches from some of Disney’s most iconic films Favorite animated movies. Guests can discover characters like Simba, Lightning McQueen, Ursula and Nemo.
The Disney animation theme is spread throughout the land, with different sections of the resort dedicated to it “the little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Cars.”
The Little Mermaid rooms are colorful and whimsical.
We received a text message with our room number when our standard room in the “Little Mermaid” section of the resort was ready.
The room had two queen-sized beds, a small table with two chairs, and a wardrobe.
I loved the underwater decor inspired by the animated film — like the clam shell headboards, the fish-framed mirror, and the Float and Sebastian wall art. There was even a cover sheet of “Under the Sea” on the table.
I also appreciated the subtle touches, like the blue-green floor turned into beach-like tile in the bathroom area.
Our room has lots of practical features too.
The room was nice, but it was also designed to… Comfortable stay.
My husband appreciated the curtain over the sink area, which kept the vanity light from disturbing him while I was getting ready for bed. We also liked the multiple USB charging ports and outlets on the nightstand and dresser.
Although the rooms at the value resorts are small, we did not feel cramped.
There was a closet area with a luggage rack, shelves, and hangers, and we had three large dresser drawers to store our clothes. There was even an octopus-shaped peg rack to hang our jackets.
Big Blue Pool isn’t just fun for kids.
The Big Blue Pool, inspired by the movie “Finding Nemo” from Art of Animation, is the largest Resort pool at Disney World.
It features larger-than-life coral sculptures and a kid-friendly area. But there’s also plenty of space for adults to lounge with a drink from the Drop Off pool bar.
The bar serves cocktails, light foods and snacks, along with non-alcoholic juices and soft drinks.
Exploring the resort feels like stepping into a Disney movie.
Every time I left my room, it was like my room Favorite Disney movies Came to life.
There were huge statues of Ariel and Ursula from “The Little Mermaid” right outside my room. In another section, I can check out Pride Rock or take a photo with Timon and Pumbaa “the king lion.”
In addition to the Big Blue Pool with Nemo, Crush, and Mr. Ray, “Finding Nemo”Part of the resort has giant seagulls chanting “mine!”
The “Cars” area is especially cool.
Attention to detail in “cars”The resort section is next level.
Most of Radiator Springs has been recreated, including the Cozy Cone Motel, Wheel Well Motel, and Luigi’s Casa Della Tires. There are huge statues of all the characters from the movie, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take pictures with my favorite characters (Fillmore and Doc Hudson).
Even if your room isn’t near the “drive-through” area, head there after dark to see the Cozy Cone Motel sign in all its neon glory.
The Art of Animation is connected to Hollywood Studios and Epcot by a Skyliner gondola.
Disney buses That’s okay, but my favorite free hotel transfer option is the Skyliner.
Unlike buses, gondolas run continuously, so there’s not a lot of waiting – even at the beginning and end of the day, the lines move quickly.
It took us about 10 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios and about 20 minutes to get to Epcot Via Skyliner. If you time your trip right, you can even watch the Epcot fireworks show from the gondola.
I would not stay anywhere else at Disney World.
I have stayed at many Disney World resorts and I can confidently say that The Art of Animation is the best.
Their budget-friendly pricing and immersive themes make my time at Disney World even more magical.
