By now you’ve probably seen some stories about the team behind Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. While the original 3DS version was released in 2013 by the talented Canada-based studio Next Level Games, for the high-definition Switch version of the game, it appears that Nintendo has once again called upon the services of Australian developer Tantalus Media.
Australian Nintendo fan site Vooks.net highlighted this in its review of the gamewith multiple ports such as IGN And VGC This also confirmed this studio’s major involvement in the project just one day before the game’s official launch.
As you may recall, Tantalus is the same team behind The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which was released on Switch in 2021. It also worked on Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U. Aside from Luigi’s second outing, the studio has been working on Recently in series like Age of Empires and Cities: Skylines, StellarisAnd LEGO 2K Drive game. And earlier in the Switch’s life cycle, that helped Sonic mania And Remy.
This latest studio reveal ahead of the official launch follows comments from a Nintendo representative recently, who confirmed that the company will not reveal its partner developers until the games are released and players see the credits roll.
Saying that, it looks like we may already know about the team’s partnership with Nintendo in Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and Mario & Luigi fans may have an idea of the studio behind the remake Mario & Luigi: Brothership – with Nintendo also revealing some of the ‘original developers’ involved In this project.
