One of the first friends she decided to share news of her health issues with was Applegate, with whom she co-starred in the 2011 film “Hall Pass.”

“I called her, and she answered the phone, and she said, ‘What phone?’ And I said, ‘It’s breast cancer.’ And she said, ‘I knew it.’”

“It’s salty. That’s one salty language. I love her for that,” Fisher said of Applegate, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.

“After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I am now cancer free,” she wrote.

However, the road to recovery has not always been smooth.

Fisher told fans that she underwent a lumpectomy in January to remove the tumor, which fortunately had not spread because doctors caught it early. Due to the “aggressive nature” of her cancer, the star required chemotherapy and radiation.

She underwent 12 rounds of weekly chemotherapy starting in February and began three weeks of radiotherapy in June. Fisher was also treated with injections of two other medications.

“I’m happy to say I feel great,” she shared on one programme Instagram share.

“I lost my hair during chemo, but thanks to some adorable wigs and hats (which my family affectionately called ‘wigates’), I’ve been able to wait until now to reveal everything that’s been happening to me,” Fisher continued. “I’m making this announcement for several reasons.”

“First, I’m ready to get rid of the wig. Second, I ask you to have a yearly mammogram. You can also ask your doctor to calculate your breast cancer risk score and perform any additional tests needed. I’m serious, call your doctors now.”
