What’s On This Weekend! 15th – 17th July
If you’re stumped for what to get up to this weekend then do not fret! We have you covered. Here is a quick guide to all that is going on in Brighton and Hove this weekend!
To keep any little ones entertained this weekend why not head to Brighton Museum and Art Gallery for an archaeological adventure? Give your kids the Indiana Jones experience by showing them their ancestors, letting them use a 3d printer as well as finding out what an archaeologist does at this weekends Dig It! Event. The event is free and runs all day on Saturday, great way to get your kids involved with craft activities and explore the Pavilion gardens.

The Prince Albert is playing host to a trio of rock bands on Sunday night, the perfect way to cure those Sunday night blues. The Australian Smith Street Band are bringing their energetic live show to Brighton alongside seasoned groups Apologies, I Have None and the Woahnows. Festival veterans, all these bands know full well how to put on a lively show and in an intimate venue like this one, it’ll be an amazing night. All three groups have been around for years now so the combination of the three sets should be the perfect reason to get out the house on Sunday.

An “absolutely free festival” is taking place at Hove Lawns on Sunday. The People’s Festival 2016 boasts variety with local chefs, musicians and performers all volunteering their time for a great day out. Thousands of volunteer hours have already been put in for this,the festivals first year, in an effort to catapult it into the future. There will be loads going on, and the weather looks set to be nice as well so there really is no excuse not to get on down to the lawns and enjoy the sun!
The People’s Festival kicks of Sunday, at 12.
The Starboard Festival continues to be in full swing this weekend! The children and young people’s festival is running events all week into the weekend. The brand new festival is run for children with children, and has performances including The Tempest and How To Be A Superhero across the city at a number of different venues. Also on this weekend is the 80s night for people who hate 80s nights! SPELLBOUND at Komedia is the ultimate 80s night in Brighton that plays the alternative 80s! FOr anyone looking to do something a bit different this weekend, escape the normal clubs and head to Komedia! The Smiths, The Specials and much much more will transport you back to the ultimate party decade.
