October 15 Saint: Who is Saint Teresa of Avila?
Saint Teresa of Avila She was a Spanish mystic very relevant in the Catholic tradition, becoming the first woman to receive a doctorate of the Church because of the influence of her life and work. He was born on March 28, 1515 into a large family, the third of nine siblings and two stepchildren. Her parents raised her to focus on reading, which led her to become a prominent writer in the future.
From an early age, Saint Teresa was deeply interested in the lives of the saints, admiring their courage and determination in not giving up their faith even in the face of death. At the age of 20, he entered the Avatara Math, although he had to stay away for two years due to illness.

Throughout his life, he founded a total of 17 convents in various provinces of Spain, starting with the Convent of San José in Ávila, which he inaugurated on August 24, 1562. His work in the Reformation of Carmel and his spiritual legacy are a lasting imprint on the history of the Church.
Prayer to Saint Teresa of Avila
Saint Teresa, Virgin Spouse, especially beloved of the Crucified, and Doctor of the Church, I desire to follow you, to fulfill the will and to obtain friendship before all the joys of the earth. In spite of all odds, give me strength to follow your example in publicly serving Christ with the perfection he asks. With your help I shall overcome the difficulties of this life and become worthy of the endless paradise. Amen.
