The formulas for defining franchise and go-to marks at the end relate the amount in each position to a percentage of the salary cap. Thus, once the salary cap is known, the tag amounts are known.

The franchise tag allows the player to negotiate with other teams and sign the offer sheet. If its current team does not match the bid, the new team forfeits two first-round picks.

The transition tag only provides the right to match, without compensation. Transition marks are as follows:
