We all know what an event August’s Brighton Pride is, but have you ever heard of Brighton Trans Pride? The July event may be lesser known but is certainly equally important.
After forming in 2013 the non-profit, community interest group introduced Trans Pride to Brighton. The organisation’s aim is to inspire all trans, intersex, gender variant and queer people to help make a difference.
Taking place on the 22nd July 2017, the event involves a march, a park event, a few gigs and even an afterparty.
Aiming to raise awareness about the discrimination faced within the trans community, they hope to create visibility and promote equality through the protest march and positive celebrations afterwards.
The popular pride event takes place all over the city, with the march starting at The Marlborough Pub and ending at Brunswick Square.
The organisation hope to encourage trans people, friends, family and allies to come and have fun in a safe space.
With more and more people attending every year, and the event celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Trans Pride is only getting bigger and better.
