The Libertines To Play The Brighton Centre

via BBC

We at Brighton Journal are always going on about how much we love the seaside… and apparently so do The Libertines. Yesterday the English rock band announced on their Twitter that they would be playing a seaside tour of the UK this Autumn.

The band are currently working on a follow up album to their hugely successful comeback album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’ which was widely acclaimed when it came out in 2015. Always a festival favourite, The Libertines will be hitting the coast after a Summer of performing at festivals, including Truck festival and Tramlines.

The tour will begin in the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool before coming to an end in our very own Brighton Centre on 2nd October.

As for what 2017 holds for the 1997 formed band, they’ve said they’re “looking for a home…a factory, with a guest house, bar and studio”. Carl Barat continued, “We do love to be beside the seaside and we hope we find that home on this tour…watch this space…”

So it’s all looking very exciting for The Libertines. If you want tickets be sure to visit the band’s official site.
