Reality TV star Mama June’s daughter Anna “Chickadi” Cardwell has been diagnosed with cancer, according to a report.
Anna, 28, was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer of the liver, kidney, and lung in January, family sources told TMZ.
Adrenocortical carcinoma, also known as adrenocortical carcinoma, is a rare disease that affects an estimated 200 Americans annually, according to the American Cancer Society.
Anna was first complaining of stomach pain before many tests.
Family sources said she underwent her first round of chemotherapy last month and has already lost her hair as a result.
Doctors are waiting to see how treatment affects her before making any further decisions, but her family is “very hopeful” that she will beat the disease.
Family sources said they’ve come together to help take care of Anna and her two children, 10-year-old Kaitlyn and 7-year-old Kylie.
Anna’s boyfriend Eldridge also showed his support.
The average lifespan of patients with adrenal cancer is about 46, but adrenal cancer can strike people of any age, even in children, according to the American Cancer Society.
Adrenocortical carcinoma begins in the outer layer of the adrenal glands adjacent to the kidneys. The adrenal glands are small glands that produce hormones.
Most tumors that form in the adrenal glands are noncancerous
