Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been criticized on Steam for performance issues

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been panned by EA and Respawn Entertainment with several negative reviews on Steam with users reporting performance issues.

Survivor, the galactic sequel to 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order, currently has a mostly negative rating on Steam with only 31% of 1216 users recommending it.

“The game is very fun but performs terribly,” said Steam user Dr. Taco Chocolate. “I use a 3090 FE and a 5700x and get 30fps in some areas. Other areas give me a mostly consistent 45. This is at 1440p.”

Users have also taken to Reddit to air their grievances, with Delicious_Pea_3706 “The comments of concern about performance for PC are valid,” he said. They said that running Survivor on an RTX 4090 and an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D saw it crash not only itself but the entire computer.

“Running the 4090 with Epic Settings and Ray Tracing got me around 90fps, which is pretty good, but frame stuttering was just too frequent. I don’t want to imagine how bad the midrange hardware could be.”

Report other users accidents Also, along with Graphical issuesAnd “unexpected error” which saw the player pass through story elements without seeing them, forcing them to either continue in a broken game state or load a previous save in hopes that it would work the second time around.

Other users said that the performance issues are mitigated once the player moves from the first main area of the game. “After the first world it was going absolutely fine,” said Steam Bike user. Another user, Al-Fafshy, said: “Story [and] Combat makes up for the lack of performance in the first area.”

There are also users who encounter any problems. “Currently it’s three hours into the game and you haven’t had any stuttering while playing on the 3070,” said gildner99 on Steam. “I’m not sure if I was lucky or what but I just loved the game.”

Respawn released a day one patch for the game that seemed to address a lot of the performance issues, though it also said more are on the way in the coming weeks.
