‘Beetlejuice’ Outperforms ‘Transformers: One’ in Surprise

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Tim Burton’s 1988 horror comedy “The Rock” held the top spot at the box office for the third straight week, taking in $26 million, according to studio estimates.

The film outpaced the new weekend release of “Transformers: One,” an animated film telling the origin story of Optimus Prime and featuring the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry and Scarlett Johansson, which grossed $25 million.

Warner Bros.’ “Beetlejuice,” starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, took in $110 million three weeks ago and has since grossed more than $226 million domestically, according to Box Office Mojo.

according to Hollywood Reporter, “Transformers: One” has received rave reviews and even awards buzz, but fans on social media were “confused about the film’s status as an animated film.” The site added that Paramount, which is behind the film, hopes to keep the movie in theaters for the next few weeks.

The horror film “Speak No Evil” starring James McAvoy came in third at the box office with revenues of $5.9 million in its second week of showing, for a total revenue of $21.5 million.

And completed the top five Halle Berry The horror film “Never Let Go” came in fourth place with revenues of $4.5 million, while the film “Deadpool & Wolverine” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman made revenues of $3.9 million in its ninth weekend in theaters.
