Celebrities dressed to leave New York after the 2024 Met Gala

At this point, we all know the sheer amount of labor that goes into creating a look for the first Monday in May. At the 2024 Met Gala, Gigi Hadid’s Thom Brown dress was covered in 2.8 million tiny beads By hand; Karlie Kloss’s bag is covered in approximately 250,000 Swarovski crystals.

But attendees seem prepared for all situations related to the Met, not just the concert itself. As celebrities hang out in New York, they have to consider the sheer spectacle that entails leaving the hotel. With photographers and dedicated fans outside the hotspots (among them The Mark and The Carlyle), Met guests are still hoping to look their best long after the night is over.

Some chose comfortable clothes for their upcoming trips, or in an attempt to keep a low profile. Kendall Jenner wore a simple t-shirt and yoga pants while leaving The Greenwich Hotel, and Adwoa Aboah revealed her baby bump, which she debuted in a cropped t-shirt and sweatpants. However, even under-the-radar looks were attracting attention. Jennie Kim wore baggy jeans, a brown jacket and a Chanel baseball cap. Others adhered to the spirit of tailoring, dressing for crowds. Sidney Sweeney stepped out in New York wearing a strapless Rokh ensemble, and Jack Harlow wore a suit.

Below, see how celebrities are dressing for the aftermath of the 2024 Met Gala.
