Alan Wake 2 will be released on Friday, October 27, and anticipation is building for another hit game in a year full of them. Developer Remedy Entertainment has been very optimistic about the supernatural sequel, and we can’t wait to get a handle on it ourselves.
However, some fans expressed concern about the game’s technically impressive performance, especially on consoles, where Alan Wake 2 was designed to be a “30 frames per second experience focused on visuals and atmosphere”. Performance mode will be available to players who prefer it, but Remedy’s communications director, Thomas Buha, felt the need to allay concerns anyway, writing the following:
“People are worried about the console versions of AW2… and I’m smiling. Like I said, we’ve paid a lot of attention to the consoles, focusing on them. I think most of you will be very positively surprised.”
