Some Helldivers 2 players have become cocky while the galaxy is clear but others have warned them not to catch the eye of Game Master Joel.
Helldivers 2 players are now enjoying a legendary career after completing consecutive main quests. Unlock devastating combat mechanisms and liberate the Umlaut sector with industrial amounts of termiticide.
Despite this, most Helldivers have the machinations of the infamous Game Master Joel on their minds. Some players even worry that Jewel might turn their victories into new horrors.
Despite these concerns, some Helldivers 2 fans can't resist rubbing their peaceful galaxy in Joel's face. X user malphier took to the podium to brag to fans about Super Earth's recent performance, but more wary players implored them not to antagonize the infamous Game Master.
The player's post reads almost like a direct challenge to the man behind the ebb and flow of the galactic war. “Guess Joel's not all that after all,” they joked.
They're not the only players celebrating. “Looks like this galactic war will end before my birthday,” one player speculated. Another assumed they would be home with their families by “the big Christmas.”
Not everyone is so confident and is warning @malphier and others not to move forward. “For the love of all things democracy, don't turn away from the space god!” Helldiver urged more caution.
“Why tempt fate like this?” Another player asked. Many of them gave messages of moderation in the face of Joel's potential backlash.
For our money, we think luring Joel is unwise given the unfathomable power he has over the outcome of the galactic war in Helldivers 2.
We'll have to wait and see if this schadenfreude angers him, and if so, what atrocities he might unleash on players for their arrogance.
