Disney returns to Arendelle.

Bob Iger revealed that the studio is working on a fourth film in the Frozen series in addition to the previously announced and yet to be released Frozen 3.

“Frozen 3” is in the works, and there it is may be “We will have a ‘Frozen 4’ in the works as well,” the Disney CEO said Thursday on “Good Morning America.” “But I don’t have much to say about those movies right now. [Director] Jane Lee, who created the original Frozen and Frozen 2, has been hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.

“Frozen” songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will return to write new tunes for the next two films, Anderson-Lopez later confirmed on social media. “Well, I’ve been quiet here for a while,” she wrote. “But yes this.”

Iger made the announcement from the Disney theme park in Hong Kong, where he is in the city for the opening ceremony of the “Frozen World” movie. This attraction allows guests to not only meet Olaf, Anna and Elsa, but also dine at restaurants and walk through streets that evoke the mystical world of Arendelle.

“Over the years at our Disney parks, we’ve created these large, immersive worlds. Essentially, they are the physical embodiment of some of the greatest stories we’ve told…and of course, since ‘Frozen’ is one of our most valuable franchises, I think it’s a perfect fit.” To build the place where “Frozen” takes place,” Iger said. “It’s just a wonderful land for people to be able to immerse themselves in the story of ‘Frozen’ and interact with all the wonderful characters from the films.”

“Frozen” and its 2019 sequel “Frozen II” were huge hits and broke the Disney zeitgeist. The sequel remains the biggest animated release ever at $1.45 billion, though the original was no slouch with $1.33 billion. In addition to their box office fortunes, films about the adventures of royal sisters Anna and Elsa (voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel) spawned inevitable pop hits like “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” As well as a Broadway musical.
