One Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player was in disbelief when he found one of Disney’s most famous landmarks from the Lion King, Pride Rock, has been added as an Easter egg in the new DLC: Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, complete with a lion-themed Pokemon King .

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has been a huge success since the series released its first open-world game to be set in the Paldea region.

The game, which sees Pokémon finally have over a thousand Pocket Monsters in their Pokédex, has expanded further with the release of the new DLC: Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The sequel, titled Indigo Disk, was released on December 14, 2023, and added more Pokemon and features.

One of them is an unexpected Easter egg from Disney’s Lion King. One player was surprised to find the infamous Pride Rock from the classic movie, on which Simba was held captive, but that was not all.

Pokemon player Gen_3_Trainer They revealed their discovery on Twitter/X, with a clip of them heading towards the rock face, where they “instantly recognized this famous landmark”.

Although it may have seemed as if it was a coincidence that the rocks were so similar to Pride Rock, from The Lion King, they expressed “I was surprised the King was there.”

The short video shows the Lion King and his Pokémon, in the form of Litlio, sitting and looking up at the top of rocks, confirming the direct Disney reference.

The post went viral after gaining instant traction. This wasn’t surprising considering it’s one of the most famous scenes in the Disney franchise, with many players quickly flooding the comments to point it out.

“This is so amazing! I love it!” As another asked, “I hope there’s a permanent Pokemon spawn point there.” Gen_3_Trainer confirmed: “It’s actually a constant spawn. I’ve moved away a few times and gone out of deployment range, and when I come back, it’s still spawning.”

Pride Rock is famous for being the home of lions and their monarchy within The Lion King, where the plot’s powers are divided and many scenes revolve around it. The most famous is when baby Simba is born for the first time, and is carried atop the rock, marking the birth of the new heir to the Lion King’s throne.
