Five hundred dishes, more than a thousand guests and a multi-million dollar budget – this is how the son of the richest man in Asia celebrated his upcoming wedding.
The three-day extravaganza hosted by Anant Ambani and his future wife Radhika Merchant saw Bollywood royalty rub shoulders with tech billionaires, sports stars and even Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka.
The event captured the attention of fans in India and abroad, who followed every detail that came out of the party at his father Mukesh Ambani's resort in Jamnagar, in the state of Gujarat, over the weekend.
It was so large that the local airport was given temporary international status as it received visitors from all over the country and the world. Airport authorities said nearly 130 flights arrived for the event, transporting the likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg to the area.
Most guests stayed in luxury tents near the venue which offered a level of luxury that most would find difficult to imagine, let alone afford – and could choose from more than 500 dishes prepared by dozens of chefs from around the world.
There were also hair and makeup artists, laundry services and stylists on hand to help any guest prepare for the themed gatherings taking place — which were said to have been carefully laid out in a nine-page schedule.
The highlight was pop star Rihanna's first ever performance in India, for which she was rumored to be paid in the region of $7m (£5.5m). The BBC was unable to independently confirm this amount.
Some of India's biggest movie stars also danced to her hit songs on stage.
Guests enjoyed visiting Anant Ambani's pet project – a 3,000-acre sanctuary that houses thousands of animals.
However, it wasn't all about the party. Mukesh Ambani — the head of Reliance Industries, whose net worth is estimated at $115 billion, according to Forbes — has also built 14 new temples in the city, according to local reports.
All eyes are now likely to be on the wedding scheduled to be held in Mumbai in July.
