Moviegoers flocked in droves on Friday to see the monster movie “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” which has garnered huge attention. A whopping $37 million During its first week in theaters, according to IMDB's Box Office Mojo.
Rebecca Hall's big-budget monster buddy movie, which The Post said has a “stunning plot,” opened in 3,861 theaters, and follows 2021's “Godzilla vs. Kong.”
Following the latest Monsterverse film, which grossed $5.5 million on Friday, is Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
The third part of the “Kung Fu Panda” film series ranked third with sales of $4 million, followed by “Dune: Part Two,” which sold another $3.6 million.
In fifth place on Friday was “Immaculate,” which grossed another $1.1 million in theaters.
