A “biohazard” on a United Airlines flight is the latest aviation incident to cause an unscheduled landing of a commercial aircraft.
United Airlines says a “medical issue” involving a passenger caused Flight 2477 to land in Virginia, where the aircraft had to be “thoroughly cleaned.” FlightAware shows the flight departing Houston on Sunday morning, then diverting to Washington Dulles International Airport about two hours into the flight. The flight was bound for Boston Logan International Airport.
Audio posted on X by Thenewarea51 A flight crew member was photographed describing a “biohazard” on board the flight.
“It looks like it’s pretty bad out there,” the recording says. “Crew and passengers are vomiting everywhere and asking for face masks.”
“We deep cleaned the aircraft and it departed for Boston later that afternoon,” United said in a statement.
This is the latest horrific incident on a commercial flight.
Earlier this month, a Delta flight to New York was diverted when spoiled food It made passengers sick. In April, a United flight had to return to San Francisco when the toilet began to overflow.
