Battery Power Announcement Regarding New Leadership

Battery Power Announcement Regarding New Leadership

If you’re a regular reader of Chris Willis’s emails here, you may have noticed that Chris dropped a surprising surprise at the end of the last email. For posterity’s sake, I’ll quote it here but I’ll still link to the full post because it’s good, as always:

Writing these emails has been one of the most fun things I’ve done on the site over the past two years. However, this will be my last. Last month, I was promoted to managing editor of baseball at SB Nation. That means I’m now responsible for all baseball teams’ sites. This also means that there will be a new battery power product coming soon.

I added emphasis in the quote because that’s what I came here to talk about. As of today, I am now the producer of the Battery Power Team website. As a fan who started reading this site over a decade ago as a way to pass the time before (and after) college classes, being tasked with maintaining this wonderful community into the future is a dream come true.

This is also how I will approach the day-to-day operations of this blog. I hope you all trust that we will continue to provide you with the best independent coverage of the Atlanta Braves that you can find on the internet and I trust that you will continue to show up for us as you have done time and time again in the past. I am grateful to everyone who has clicked on an article of mine and any article on this site in general. This place would not exist without readers like you and your support means the world to me and everyone who writes here.

We all try to come together and make this a great place for Braves fans to come together and talk about ball – whether things are going well like the last few seasons or we’re in the middle of a season like this one where we’re wondering what the Braves did to upset the baseball gods in terms of their injury misfortune this season. Through thick and thin, this place has been a constant part of Braves fandom and it’s clear that many of you feel the same way about continuing to come and visit. Whether it’s to celebrate another big win or to come here to vent, I definitely appreciate this place and I’m excited to take a more active role in keeping this place going strong.

Obviously the big question I would be thinking about if I were just a reader is “How will this site change in the future?” Right now (and probably in the future), it doesn’t change much. We will continue to provide you with comprehensive coverage of the Braves, all the writers and voices you’ve grown accustomed to hearing and reading here will remain here and we are all committed to keeping this blog going strong through the end of this season and beyond. If there are any major changes that need to be made in the future, we will let you know and we are trying to be as transparent as possible but also if I were you, I wouldn’t be looking for anything major to change in the near future. You know why you came here, we know why you came here and we will continue to provide that for you for the foreseeable future.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments. I’ll be in the comments for a while to answer any questions you may have. Also, if you have any questions you’d like to ask me on my social media, feel free to reach out to me at X twitter I will try to get back to you whenever I get a chance. If you choose this path, all I ask is that you be calm and collected, like The Fonz. Everyone loves The Fonz, so Let’s be cool like the Fonz We will all make sure that this place does not jump the shark like Fonzie.

Again, it’s all about trust and I hope you trust me and the rest of the great staff here to make sure we continue to keep this place a great place for you and all Braves fans online. I look forward to what the future holds and hopefully we have a win to talk about Tuesday night against the Phillies!
