Cleveland fans won’t soon forget the Guardians’ epic Game 3 win over the Yankees on Thursday night, which was punctuated by hard-hitting hits from Junkinse Noel and David Frye. But they don’t have much time to enjoy the win, as Game 4 takes place on Friday and the Guardians are still staring at a 2-1 series deficit.
Both rookie pitchers were making their postseason debuts in this game: Louis Gale for the Yankees (3.50 ERA in 151 2/3 innings this season) and Gavin Williams for the Guardians (4.86 ERA in 76 innings).
Will the Rangers have more magic after Thursday’s heroics? They have been strong at home this season and have the momentum coming from their win in Game 3. We’ll find out soon enough.
