4 dead and dozens injured after a stampede at a concert at an Indian university

At least four people were killed and dozens injured in a stampede during a university concert in southern India.

Local officials said the incident occurred at the Cochin University of Science and Technology in Kerala on Saturday evening.

Arif Muhammad Khan, Governor of Kerala, said: “I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the sad death of four students in a stampede at the Cochin University of Science and Technology. My heartfelt condolences to their families. Prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.” He said in a post on Xthe platform formerly known as Twitter.

At least 64 others were injured in the stampede of crowds. according to Multiple reports. Singer Nikhita Gandhi was supposed to perform at the Technology Festival, which was held in an outdoor hall on the campus.
