1813 – Battle of Salta. The Northern Army, led by General Manuel Belgrano, defeats Brigadier Juan Pio Tristan's Spanish troops at the Battle of Salta and recovers territories in upper Peru. The victory also stopped a potential Spanish military advance towards Buenos Aires. Belgrano had already defeated the Spanish military leader at the Battle of Tucuman.

1967 – Kurt Cobain was born. American musician, guitarist and singer Kurt Cobain, icon of Generation X and leader of the alternative rock band Nirvana, was born in Aberdeen (Washington, USA).

1983 – Rosanna Falaska dies. At the age of 29, singer Rosanna Falasca, one of the greatest female voices in tango history, died in Don Torquato, Buenos Aires. He recorded his first album at the age of 17.

1988 – Rihanna was born. Born in the municipality of St. Michael on the Caribbean island of Barbados, singer, dancer and actress Rihanna (Robin Rihanna Fenty), is considered one of the most influential music artists of the 21st century.

2024 – Social justice. Since 2009, the World Day of Social Justice has been established by the United Nations to promote poverty eradication, decent work and gender equality.
