76th Emmy Awards Red Carpet Looks: See Who Wore What

Red carpet season has begun, and some of the biggest names in television gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday.

With the Emmys set to return to their usual September slot (after a writers’ strike pushed last year’s ceremony back to mid-January), the Emmys often hint at which TV shows might win more awards at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards. The ceremony also often predicts what eveningwear trends will dominate Hollywood in the coming months.

The red carpet at the event was relatively subdued, with many attendees opting for long, dark gowns, classic dresses, and column dresses. However, there were plenty of playful touches amidst the traditionally chic black attire, from the subtle gold detailing on Laverne Cox’s Alexander McQueen look to the rhinestone-encrusted neckline of Selena Gomez’s Ralph Lauren gown.

But some of the best moments of the evening were in a brighter shade: pink. Meryl Streep dazzled in a pantsuit and bow blouse, Hannah Einbinder wore a crepe, jersey and tulle Louis Vuitton gown in pale pink, and Eiza Gonzalez and Aja Naomi King were both dazzling in Tamara Ralph and Giambattista Valli, respectively.

Elsewhere, attendees played with eye-catching materials, including actress Ayo Edebiri, who wowed in a sequined Bottega Veneta gown, and Quinta Bruson, whose strapless Georges Chakra gown looked like it was liquid. Kristen Wiig (in Oscar de la Renta) and Gillian Anderson (in Emilia Wickstead) were among the many attendees who wowed in metallic silver gowns—and in the case of Ella Purnell’s Rabanne gown, chainmail.

In the menswear department, many attendees eschewed traditional black tie in favor of something a little more flamboyant. “Abbott Elementary” star Chris Perfetti wowed in a theatrical ruffled shirt from Christian Siriano’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, and “Fallout” star Aaron Moten arrived in an all-red Kenzo suit with a Nehru collar. “The Traitors” actor Alan Cumming and fellow Scotsman Richard Judd, creator of “Baby Reindeer,” both donned Scottish kilts, with the patterned waistband of Teddy Von Ranson’s cream jacket exposed as a scarf.

Even men who opted for traditional tailoring added playful touches, from the sculpted neckline designed by Dan Levy for the broadcaster to the unbuttoned silk shirt designed by Jonathan Bailey for Giorgio Armani.
