The family of Julia WendellA young woman who says Madeleine McCann – the girl who went missing in 2007 in the south of Portugal – has come out to deny her story.
Through a post on social networks, relatives of the young woman explained that she suffers from mental health problems and that she is trying to be “famous”.
In a statement NGO Jaginini, Julia’s relatives, dedicated to the search for missing persons, made it clear that to them she was their daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and adopted daughter. They highlighted that they have memories and photographs of her.
“Julia has those photos because she took them from the family home with her birth certificate, and numerous hospital discharges,” they said.
In the statement, Julia’s family asserts that the young woman has undergone numerous treatments, medications, psychologists and psychiatrists and points out that she “refuses treatment and continues to take medication.”
In addition, they have always “wanted to be a singer and a model” and hinted that fame is what they seek through their statements.
“We fear how Julia will endure the inevitable. It’s clear the internet hasn’t forgotten, Julia is not Maddie. We’re devastated by the situation,” they closed.
