Final Fantasy XVI's PC release is in the “final stages of improvement”, expect a demo before release

Final Fantasy XVI released exclusively on PlayStation 5 last June. However, Square Enix has already revealed that a PC version of the action game is in development. When I spoke with producer Naoki Yoshida about this topic at Square Enix's offices in Tokyo, Japan Detective game In last year's FFXVI cover story, he said players shouldn't expect a PC release anytime soon.

With FFXVI's first DLC, Echoes of the Fallen, and its second DLC, The Rising Tide, scheduled for release this spring, I spoke to Yoshida again about the PC version. I also spoke with him and DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka about The Rising Tide and what players can expect, which you can read about Detective game Exclusive preview here.

While Yoshida is unable to share when the PC version of FFXVI will be released, he does say that the team is in the final stages of improvement.

“In terms of where we currently are in development, we are trying to figure out the final stages of improvement now,” Yoshida told me through a translator. “When we can release the PC version may depend on that – the system requirements and PC specs that players will need, so we're trying to figure that out. And of course, [the PC specifications] “We're looking to be fairly high.”

He says players can rest assured, though, that development on the PC version of FFXVI is going smoothly, but “in terms of when it will come out or when we can announce it, I would ask for more time.” “Which.”

Yoshida told me that before FFXVI is released on PC, the team will do its best to announce the best specifications and requirements in advance so players can decide if the game will run on their PC.

“To achieve this, we are looking to release a demo for the PC version as well,” he adds. “Again, we can't talk too much in terms of specifics as to when it will be released – I think with a little bit of time we'll be in a better place to announce things. But one thing is for sure: it won't be too far in the future, it won't be public, and it won't be “Two years, maybe shorter than that, so stay tuned.”
