The most popular navigation app, Google Maps, is getting some new features that will level up your navigation experience. Notably, Google Maps is getting improved transit directions, emoji interactions, and collaborative menus. All of these new features have been added to Google Maps, so users can get around places more easily and conveniently this upcoming holiday season.

Google Maps is getting an improved public transit directions feature that will recommend different routes depending on what you want. You get new options, such as better routes, fewer detours, less walking, wheelchair accessibility, and less cost. Google Maps will also show you the correct station entrance and exit so you don’t board the wrong train.

These new features make it easier to navigate your favorite places using Google Maps

Public transit directions in Google Maps also get the option to show cycling and ride-sharing options. Moreover, people in a particular city can purchase public transportation tickets through the app itself. Another great feature that Google Maps gets is collaborative listings. Using Google Maps Collaborative Lists, users can create a shared list where they and their friends can vote on specific destinations using emojis and decide where to visit next based on the votes. Lists can be shared with friends or family members through text messages or other messaging apps.

Emojis just got more useful as you can now interact with user photos and reviews using them from Google Emoji’s Kitchen. As noted in Official blogSome new features, such as emoji interactions, are rolling out to Android and iOS, while others, including new transportation updates and collaborative menus, will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
