King Charles finally wants to cuddle with his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet for the first time on his birthday in November, according to a royal expert.
“Charles wanted Harry and Meghan’s children there,” royal biographer and expert Angela Levine said said the sun. “If Harry and Meghan want to make an excuse, that’s their decision.”
Tensions are at an all-time high in the inner circle due to a conflict between the royal family and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which means their children have yet to meet their grandfather.
Levine has claimed that the Montecito-based couple will also want to attend the monarch’s birthday celebrations in the UK, adding that she doesn’t see why Markle should not be invited.
However, it remains unclear whether a reunion between the Sussexes and Firm is on the cards at this time, especially since Markle did not attend Charles’ coronation in May.
Harry was known to trek across the pond on his own, and although he attended his father and stepmother’s party, his trip was as short as possible.
Reportedly, his short 28-hour stint on home soil left his family wondering why he even bothered coming at all.
It was the first time he had seen his father since he released his bombshell memoir, Spear, in January.
At the ceremony, it was the duke by his seating arrangement — after being relegated to the third row between Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, and Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin Princess Alexandra.
More recently, the couple was reported to have snubbed an invitation to a Royal Family reunion marking the one year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not receive invitations to the intimate event at Balmoral Castle on September 8 – although they were in Europe for the Invictus Games the following day, according to reports.
The exiled royals are set to land in Dusseldorf, Germany just 24 hours after meeting the royals at Balmoral, but a source said the sun that “there was no contact with them.”
The duo’s trip to Germany will be their first joint European appearance since the late king’s funeral on September 19, 2022.
