After renders in March and a short video in a temperature sensor leak in May, we now have a better ‘hands-on’ look at the Pixel 8 Pro.
Somebody on reddit (via android life) shared a Pixel 8 Pro prototype yesterday, as evidenced by the identification pattern in place of the “G” logo. Looks like they got it “from the device team at Google for testing”.
The bootloader screen confirms the “husky” codename and the “ripcurrent” bootloader, while a “Zuma” sticker, the Tensor G3’s codename, is on the back. Other specs for this particular unit include 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of SKHynix storage.
We see the increased corner radius in this leak, while the Pixel 8 Pro’s camera is what really stands out. The single pill that houses all three cameras takes up more space compared to last year. It definitely looks longer with less tape edge room. The microphone hole is located between the first and second cameras, with other sensors underneath. Then you see the flash and infrared temperature sensor.
The front screen image shows the Pixel 8 Pro in a box, but we see the flat screen.
