Converts Owners can get the latest system update as Nintendo has just started distributing version 17.0.1.
The same song and dance applies here again. Previous updates were about stability, and this is the case for version 17.0.1 as well. However, the minor drawback is that Nintendo has also addressed an issue with local connectivity for some games.
Here’s the full official synopsis from Nintendo, which is expected to be short:
Update version 17.0.1 patch notes
- Local connection issue for some programs has been resolved.
- General system stability improvements to enhance user experience.
While Nintendo always cites stability, sometimes things are more specific than that. The company doesn’t go into detail, but sometimes there may be things like the list of bad words that are updated. However, unless something is specifically referenced by Nintendo, you can assume it’s nothing too big.
If you’re looking to download the Switch version 17.0.1 update right away, you can do so by visiting System Settings. Simply go to the System tab and select the System Update option. For most Switch users, it should download in the background automatically and they’ll soon receive a prompt to install it.
