The leaked commercial and product page for the Pixel 8a spoils the fun of Google's “artificial intelligence.”

If you're thinking about getting a new Pixel phone, you might want to hold on to your hats for a few more weeks. The Google Pixel 8a is supposed to make its debut during the company's I/O 2024 conference scheduled for May. Thanks to a leaked promotional video, we got a glimpse of what this phone might bring to the table, including a host of AI capabilities.

According to a promotional video leaked by trusted tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@Onleaks), in collaboration with My Smart PriceThe Pixel 8a appears to be getting some AI upgrades borrowed from the Pixel 8 lineup.

One cool feature in the pipeline is the “Best Take” function aimed at improving group photos. Once you've taken a bunch of shots, it lets you choose the best face and filter out any goofy expressions.

The Pixel 8a is also expected to include Circle to Search, a feature that many are already familiar with. This feature was first introduced in January for the Galaxy S24 series and later made its way to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 series. Using Circle to Search, users can search for items or objects simply by circling them on the screen.

According to the leaked video, the Pixel 8a is also gearing up to introduce Live Translate, a feature that will work great by translating voice calls and more on the go. Another exciting addition to its camera arsenal is “Audio Magic Eraser”, designed to remove any annoying background noise from your videos.

Google shook things up with the Pixel 8 series by promising seven great years of Android OS and security updates. Now, it looks like the company is extending the same commitment to its upcoming A-series device as well.

Retail Marketing Materials, recently unveiled by Android addresses, highlight Google's commitment to software updates for its next budget phone. However, the materials explicitly mention “7 years of security updates,” leaving room for speculation as to whether this includes Android OS updates as well. Interestingly, similar language was found in the Google Store listing for the standard Pixel 8.

The upcoming device is highly expected to make its debut at the annual I/O developers conference on May 14 this year. During the event, we expect a look at Android 15, along with some exciting AI improvements and the reveal of new Pixel devices.
