Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s viral public relationship has taken over the internet. Now, so are some of Kelsey’s old tweets.
On Wednesday, several Kansas City Chiefs social media posts dating back to 2010 were reposted on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), where many of Swift’s fans seemed genuinely amused.
Many people online seemed intrigued by Kelsey’s humor and early misspellings. Some of his old musings became memes.
Among the many viral reshares was a 2011 post in which Kelsey observed a squirrel’s behavior after giving it a piece of bread. He spelled the words “squirrel” and “chunk” incorrectly.
“I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread and it smashed it all!!!! I had no idea they ate bread like that! Haha #crazy,” he said in Tweet.
A Taylor Swift fan account placed Kelsey’s 2011 comment alongside Swift’s lyrics from the extended re-recording of her 2012 song “All Too Well.”
Taylor Swift in 2011: Since Brooklyn broke my skin and bones, I’ve been a soldier giving back half her weight, and has the double flame bruise dyed you blue? Just between us, has the love affair tarnished you too?
Travis Kelsey in 2011: I gave a squirrel a piece of bread. Another on X said.
Others seemed more amused by Kelsey’s tweets about Chipotle, or as he called it for several months in 2010, “#Chipolte.”
“I’m a dad, I’m crying because of his commitment to this spelling,” one user said Published on X With an accompanying screenshot of Kelce’s enthusiastic tweets about “Chipolte.”
Another old tweet seems to foretell Kelce’s penchant for turning his dreams into reality. Before he and Swift were romantically linked, Kelsey was a fan of the friendship and dream bracelet.
“The moon seems crazy tonight… I will rest here for a while and imagine my success and atmosphere in the scene,” one of his works She said old tweets.
Some fans were surprised by what appeared to be a lack of “problematic” tweets.
“Swifties search through Travis’s old tweets to find something problematic but all they find is that this guy loves chipotle, can’t spell, and has no thoughts only feelings. King.” user Published on X.
However, some Reddit investigators I started a topic About what appears to be a screenshot of a 2010 tweet from Kelsey’s account. The screenshot of the alleged tweet read: “As a man, there is something wrong with you if you prefer girls who weigh more than you!!”
The post was not on X as of Wednesday afternoon. Those who commented on Reddit had mixed reactions, with some saying it’s not surprising, while others pointing out that it has likely changed in the past decade.
A rep for Kelce did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the Reddit speculation and public reaction to his tweets.
