Samsung started rolling out the update to One UI 6.1 to the Galaxy S23 family in late March, and since getting it, a lot of people have been complaining about touchscreen issues. Specifically, the touchscreen on these devices sometimes does not register touch input properly, and one has to tap multiple times to register the touch.
Of course, this is very annoying, and now Samsung has finally acknowledged the issue, but there is a twist. According to the Korean company, this is largely Google's fault, as the issue appears to be caused by the Google app's Discover feed, which can appear to the left of the home screen on the far left.
Samsung says that Google is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it once and for all. Until that happens, Samsung offers a temporary solution for affected users: they should clear the Google app data, then reboot their devices. Once this is done, the touchscreen should register all your touches correctly.
To clear Google app data, go to Settings > Apps > Google > Storage and tap Clear data. This may require you to sign in to your Google account again after doing so.
Google will likely fix the issue by updating the Google app, so make sure you enable automatic updates in the Play Store. If you're impatient, you can always manually update all apps through the Play Store by tapping your profile icon, selecting Manage apps & device, then tapping the Update All button.
