The Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition Early Access start date and time as well as the purpose for using the Dragon Krystals has been confirmed

Mortal Kombat 1 is just over two weeks away from hitting digital and physical store shelves, but those who want to spend more on the game will get it before then.

We now know the exact start date and time for Mortal Kombat 1’s early access period for those who pre-order the Premium or Kollector’s Edition of the game.

While we’ve known for a while that early access to MK1 will begin five days early on September 14th, online retailers have now added specific times for that as well.

The Premium and Collector’s Edition versions of the game will become playable at 10 AM PDT / 12 PM CST / 1 PM EST that Thursday.

It looks like this will include the Nintendo Switch version of the game as well.

It also appears that a recent Steam store update has confirmed that PC players will have cross-platform play for the first time in the series, and it may be ready to go at launch.

For spending $110 for the premium version instead of the standard $70, players get the game, Kombat Pack 1, one week early access to new characters, and 1,250 Dragon Krystals for in-game currency on top of the September 14th release date as well. .

The Kollector’s Edition of MK1 costs $250 and includes premium contents plus a 16.5-inch Liu Kang statue, exclusive Liu Kang costume color, steel case, and 2,700 Dragon Crystals.

These store updates also provide more information on what Dragon Krystals will be used for with the official description stating that they can purchase cosmetic items such as skins, colors, gear, taunts, and potential brutality.

Kombat Pack 1 for MK1 will feature Ermac, Quan Chi, Takeda, the Invincible’s Omni-Man, The Boys’ Homelander and DC’s Peacemaker as playable characters, plus 5 new Kameo fighters and a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage.

Anyone who pre-orders the game at all will also get Shang Tsung as an additional roster member as well.

The official release date for Mortal Kombat 1 is September 19th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, so stay tuned for more coverage as we get closer to the big launch.
